Here we create fun, educational weekly challenges for you to take part in during school holidays. From crafting a big blue whale from bottle caps to finding out about the seven most deadliest creatures, each week's challenge has something for everyone.
Be part of the adventure and tackle this challenge below!
this week's challenge:
This week, with the help of an adult, your challenge is to build your own pretend mobile veterinary clinic to practice treating animals in need, wherever you may be - in your garden, in the park, or at your friend’s house.
1. what you will need:
First of all, you will need our Physical Examination Form to help you check the health of your patients, step by step. Click on the button below to download it, and then start searching for household items to bring your veterinary clinic to life. You can use kitchen scales to weigh your patient, a ruler or measuring tape to record their size, and a sock or bandage to support its injured limbs. You may also like to set up bowls of water to help keep your patients happy and hydrated whilst in your clinic. Please do not use any sharp objects!
2. what we're looking for:
We would like to see everything you would find in a real-life clinic, including some furry patients. Grab any toys that you may have, dogs, cats, giraffes, or even magical creatures, and admit them to your mobile clinic, wherever that may be. Don't forget to download the Clinical Physical Form and complete it for each of your patients, so you can determine their health, and treat any injuries or illnesses they may have. You may also want to label the areas of your clinic. The ‘Waiting Room’ may be on the grass in your backyard, the ‘Treatment Area’ may be in your kitchen, and the ‘Recovery Space’ may be on your bed. It’s totally up to you!
did you know?
Our vets don’t just treat cats and dogs in the veterinary clinic. We travel far and wide to treat and care for animals in hard-to-reach places. Everything from elephants in Myanmar to zebras in Malawi.
3. how to complete the challenge:
Show us what you did! You can do this by taking photos of your mobile clinic, your patients, and even you as the vet!
Simply email everything* to firstname.lastname@example.org!
*Please note: In line with our child safeguarding policy, we will not publish any photo that includes a child’s face in the image without permission from the parent or guardian. If you would like to give permission, please download the consent form below, fill it in, and attach it to your email to us.
